AMAZING DAY OF PLAY

 Last year, in conjunction with the Amazing Chase, the Eastern Community YMCA and OCFC collaborated on The Amazing Day of Play.  This event was created for pre-schoolers and their families to participate in a number of activities that develop assets.  Children learned, played, and created their way through a variety of “countries” themed to fit the 40 Developmental Assets®.

This year, the YMCA and OCFC decided to separate the two events, to allow the Amazing Day of Play to expand to include older children as well.  This year’s event will took place on Saturday, March 28, and included fun and educational activities for children ages 3-10.

On March 28, 2008, the Eastern Community YMCA was transformed into a labyrinth of developmental activities for children.  Each room will include an activity that is focused on a particular asset, conducted by a variety of volunteers and community resources, including the Toledo-Lucas County Library (Oregon Branch), Oregon City Schools, Safe Kids Greater Toledo, the Oregon Fire Department, and the Toledo Zoo.
